Re-embedding a 1-Plane Graph into a Straight-line Drawing in Linear Time
Thomassen characterized some 1-plane embedding as the forbidden configuration
such that a given 1-plane embedding of a graph is drawable in straight-lines if
and only if it does not contain the configuration [C. Thomassen, Rectilinear
drawings of graphs, J. Graph Theory, 10(3), 335-341, 1988].
In this paper, we characterize some 1-plane embedding as the forbidden
configuration such that a given 1-plane embedding of a graph can be re-embedded
into a straight-line drawable 1-plane embedding of the same graph if and only
if it does not contain the configuration. Re-embedding of a 1-plane embedding
preserves the same set of pairs of crossing edges.
We give a linear-time algorithm for finding a straight-line drawable 1-plane

Diamond degradation in hadron fields
The energy dependence of the concentration of primary displacements induced
by protons and pions in diamond has been calculated in the energy range 50 MeV
- 50 GeV, in the frame of the Lindhard theory. The concentrations of primary
displacements induced by protons and pions have completely different energy
dependencies: the proton degradation is very important at low energies, and is
higher than the pion one in the whole energy range investigated, with the
exception of the delta33 resonance region. Diamond has been found,
theoretically, to be one order of magnitude more resistant to proton and pion
irradiation in respect to silicon.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
Bar 1-Visibility Drawings of 1-Planar Graphs
A bar 1-visibility drawing of a graph is a drawing of where each
vertex is drawn as a horizontal line segment called a bar, each edge is drawn
as a vertical line segment where the vertical line segment representing an edge
must connect the horizontal line segments representing the end vertices and a
vertical line segment corresponding to an edge intersects at most one bar which
is not an end point of the edge. A graph is bar 1-visible if has a bar
1-visibility drawing. A graph is 1-planar if has a drawing in a
2-dimensional plane such that an edge crosses at most one other edge. In this
paper we give linear-time algorithms to find bar 1-visibility drawings of
diagonal grid graphs and maximal outer 1-planar graphs. We also show that
recursive quadrangle 1-planar graphs and pseudo double wheel 1-planar graphs

Contact Representations of Graphs in 3D
We study contact representations of graphs in which vertices are represented
by axis-aligned polyhedra in 3D and edges are realized by non-zero area common
boundaries between corresponding polyhedra. We show that for every 3-connected
planar graph, there exists a simultaneous representation of the graph and its
dual with 3D boxes. We give a linear-time algorithm for constructing such a
representation. This result extends the existing primal-dual contact
representations of planar graphs in 2D using circles and triangles. While
contact graphs in 2D directly correspond to planar graphs, we next study
representations of non-planar graphs in 3D. In particular we consider
representations of optimal 1-planar graphs. A graph is 1-planar if there exists
a drawing in the plane where each edge is crossed at most once, and an optimal
n-vertex 1-planar graph has the maximum (4n - 8) number of edges. We describe a
linear-time algorithm for representing optimal 1-planar graphs without
separating 4-cycles with 3D boxes. However, not every optimal 1-planar graph
admits a representation with boxes. Hence, we consider contact representations
with the next simplest axis-aligned 3D object, L-shaped polyhedra. We provide a
quadratic-time algorithm for representing optimal 1-planar graph with L-shaped
polyhedra
Single-neutron transfer from 11Be gs via the (p,d) reaction with a radioactive beam
The 11Be(p,d)10Be reaction has been performed in inverse kinematics with a
radioactive 11Be beam of E/A = 35.3 MeV. Angular distributions for the 0+
ground state, the 2+, 3.37 MeV state and the multiplet of states around 6 MeV
in 10Be were measured at angles up to 16 deg CM by detecting the 10Be in a
dispersion-matched spectrometer and the coincident deuterons in a silicon
array. Distorted wave and coupled-channels calculations have been performed to
investigate the amount of 2+ core excitation in 11Be gs. The use of "realistic"
11Be wave functions is emphasised and bound state form factors have been
obtained by solving the particle-vibration coupling equations. This calculation
gives a dominant 2s component in the 11Be gs wave function with a 16% [2+ x 1d]
core excitation admixture. Cross sections calculated with these form factors
are in good agreement with the present data. The Separation Energy prescription
for the bound state wave function also gives satisfactory fits to the data, but
leads to a significantly larger [2 x 1d] component in 11Be gs.Comment: 39 pages, 12 figures. Accepted for publication in Nuclear Physics A.

Offâlabel long acting injectable antipsychotics in realâworld clinical practice: a cross-sectional analysis of prescriptive patterns from the STAR Network DEPOT study
Introduction: Information on the offâlabel use of LongâActing Injectable (LAI) antipsychotics in the real world is lacking. In this study, we aimed to identify the sociodemographic and clinical features of patients treated with onâ vs offâlabel LAIs and predictors of offâlabel Firstâ or SecondâGeneration Antipsychotic (FGA vs. SGA) LAI choice in everyday clinical practice. Method: In a naturalistic national cohort of 449 patients who initiated LAI treatment in the STAR Network Depot Study, two groups were identified based on offâ or onâlabel prescriptions. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to test several clinically relevant variables and identify those associated with the choice of FGA vs SGA prescription in the offâlabel group. Results: SGA LAIs were more commonly prescribed in everyday practice, without significant differences in their onâ and offâlabel use. Approximately 1 in 4 patients received an offâlabel prescription. In the offâlabel group, the most frequent diagnoses were bipolar disorder (67.5%) or any personality disorder (23.7%). FGA vs SGA LAI choice was significantly associated with BPRS thought disorder (OR = 1.22, CI95% 1.04 to 1.43, p = 0.015) and hostility/suspiciousness (OR = 0.83, CI95% 0.71 to 0.97, p = 0.017) dimensions. The likelihood of receiving an SGA LAI grew steadily with the increase of the BPRS thought disturbance score. Conversely, a preference towards prescribing an FGA was observed with higher scores at the BPRS hostility/suspiciousness subscale. Conclusion: Our study is the first to identify predictors of FGA vs SGA choice in patients treated with offâlabel LAI antipsychotics. Demographic characteristics, i.e. age, sex, and substance/alcohol use coâmorbidities did not appear to influence the choice towards FGAs or SGAs. Despite a lack of evidence, clinicians tend to favour FGA over SGA LAIs in bipolar or personality disorder patients with relevant hostility. Further research is needed to evaluate treatment adherence and clinical effectiveness of these prescriptive patterns
Comparing Long-Acting Antipsychotic Discontinuation Rates Under Ordinary Clinical Circumstances: A Survival Analysis from an Observational, Pragmatic Study
Background: Recent guidelines suggested a wider use of long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAI) than previously, but naturalistic data on the consequences of LAI use in terms of discontinuation rates and associated factors are still sparse, making it hard for clinicians to be informed on plausible treatment courses. Objective: Our objective was to assess, under real-world clinical circumstances, LAI discontinuation rates over a period of 12 months after a first prescription, reasons for discontinuation, and associated factors. Methods: The STAR Network âDepot Studyâ was a naturalistic, multicentre, observational prospective study that enrolled subjects initiating a LAI without restrictions on diagnosis, clinical severity or setting. Participants from 32 Italian centres were assessed at baseline and at 6 and 12 months of follow-up. Psychopathology, drug attitude and treatment adherence were measured using the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale, the Drug Attitude Inventory and the Kemp scale, respectively. Results: The study followed 394 participants for 12 months. The overall discontinuation rate at 12 months was 39.3% (95% confidence interval [CI] 34.4â44.3), with paliperidone LAI being the least discontinued LAI (33.9%; 95% CI 25.3â43.5) and olanzapine LAI the most discontinued (62.5%; 95% CI 35.4â84.8). The most frequent reason for discontinuation was onset of adverse events (32.9%; 95% CI 25.6â40.9) followed by participant refusal of the medication (20.6%; 95% CI 14.6â27.9). Medication adherence at baseline was negatively associated with discontinuation risk (hazard ratio [HR] 0.853; 95% CI 0.742â0.981; p = 0.026), whereas being prescribed olanzapine LAI was associated with increased discontinuation risk compared with being prescribed paliperidone LAI (HR 2.156; 95% CI 1.003â4.634; p = 0.049). Conclusions: Clinicians should be aware that LAI discontinuation is a frequent occurrence. LAI choice should be carefully discussed with the patient, taking into account individual characteristics and possible obstacles related to the practicalities of each formulation
